The US National Weather Service Lake Charles Louisiana has increased the Wednesday severe weather threat to a 4 out of 5 level in the Alexandria area. High winds remain the main threat, with gusts in excess of 75 mph possible and sustained winds in the 50-60 mph range possible. Tornadoes are also a threat. Rain levels are expected to be in the 1/2 inch to 2 inch range.
