There is a severe weather threat for Wednesday in the Alexandria area. The US National Weather Service Lake Charles Louisiana indicates all modes of severe weather will be possible, however, strong, damaging winds are the primary threat at this time. Alexandria is currently in a projected area of Enhanced Risk (3 of 5).
Storms are expected mid/late Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. A line of strong storms will develop by early Wednesday morning further to our west. These storms will track eastward through the day, moving into SE TX by the mid to late morning, and shifting east from there through the afternoon and evening. The severe weather threat should be ending across the eastern most areas by Wednesday evening.
